- Class I, Group D: Designed for environments containing flammable gases or vapors (such as gasoline, hexane, naphtha, benzene, butane, propane, alcohol, or natural gas).
- Class II, Groups E, F, & G: Designed for environments with combustible dust (Group E covers metal dusts, Group F covers carbonaceous dusts like coal or carbon black, and Group G covers organic dusts like flour, grain, starch, or wood).
